Our goal is to produce athletic dogs that are easily trained, and have the heart and grit to stick with you until the job is done.
There is no greater satisfaction than to have the dog that's been your working partner, curled up sleeping by your feet at the end of a successful day.
"BRONC"
Introducing.....Boyd Ranch "Bronc" - Registered Name: "Rising Sun Adam Bomb" SIRE: SPCH WTCH ATCH-II OTCH Certik-Bertik RTDcs UDX TD RN RS-E-SP JS-E-SP GS-E-SP MAD AA AJ AG AR AS EJC ERC EGC. DAM: WTCH Rising Sun Blue paper Doll OTDcds.
After an exciting call in January, 2011 from a breeder/friend (Rising Sun Aussie's) offering to place "Bronc" (Rising Sun Adam Bomb) on Boyd Ranch, we were motivated towards him because of being started on cattle and sheep, and is sired by the most titled Aussie in the world! We weren't looking for an older male at this point, but after receiving his photos and pedigree we were certain this was an offer we couldn't pass up. Our hearts knew this was a great opportunity to add some new and outstanding bloodlines into our already successful breeding program, so we went for it! We received (3 year old ) "Bronc" in February 2011 (just after we unexpectedly lost our beloved male Spur). The difficulty for me personally (at first) is Bronc and Spur are so much alike in temperament and working ability that he was a constant reminder of our loss. Of course over time we realized what a blessing this had become and Bronc has settled in quickly and is working on the ranch like a true champ! It was an adjustment for him at first because he wasn't used to working cattle in the wide open and moving them so far, only been in the arena. He does hit heads and heals as needed and reads cattle well, he stays very focused and on task while working. He's built working skills with the other dogs and has learned to love us all as his new family. He likes to sit with us on the porch after a long days work (and we chuckle at him) he is such a silly dog. Excitingly he will wiggle all over and he loves to be pet and told what a great dog he is....we are truly blessed to have him.
"COLT"
"Crown Point Colt of Boyd Ranch"
SIRE: WTCH Crown Point of True Grit RTDs PATDs RD
DAM: W Lazy J Crown Point Red Baroness
Colt came to us as a "gaingly" four month old puppy. He has an outstanding pedigree with many of the foundation greats behind him. In 5 generations there are 20 Working Trial Champions, 18 Hall Of Fame Earners, and numerous Conformation Champions. Colt is an obviously beautiful dog and is already showing his talent on cattle. He has been extremely easy to train and always wants to please. He's already bringing in heifers from the pasture and is just starting to push and drive grown cows and bulls. He is tenacious on cattle and hits heads and heals but prefers heads. Obedience is his gifting and rarely gets out of position. He is the type of cowdog (like the rest of our dogs) we are blessed to own, they all (like Colt) make our days easier by being calm, focused and in the right position on stock. If you have a cowdog that's not this way, then they're just chasing cattle and making your day so much harder. Our dogs are our biggest asset here on the ranch and Colt is right in there with the rest! Colt has the type of fun outgoing personality that is enjoyed by humans and dogs alike. He always wants to be with us and loves going everywhere we go. He is also spoiled with in the dog pack and is loved and protected by them. All of us here at Boyd Ranch love our Colt!
